I'm Michael Liendo aka Focus Otter 🦦

Hey there 👋🏽, my name is Michael Liendo, aka "Focus Otter"! The name came from otters not only being adorable, but also being playful, curious, and a bit quirky. I've always been that person giving lunch-and-learn sessions. I would come up with fun demos, and interesting ways of making complex concepts easy to understand. This has stayed with me to this day as I've built a career that spans across software engineering, developer advocacy, and content creation.

Now after a decade in code, a fortunate career path and an established brand, I like to spend my time building, advocating for developers, and creating content. In particular, I specialize in fullstack development using React (Vite), NextJS, AWS serverless, Stripe, and a BUNCH of AI tools these days.

Since I've always learned best by doing and diving straight into the deep end, I've gotten pretty good at building MicroSaaS applicaitons. These are apps that are typically built to solve a specific problem for a specific user. Sure they might not make you a millionaire, but they can make you a living by enhancing your skills to fit a particular company, or to branch out and be a sort of indie hacker/boostrapper.
